Even those who wanted to watch American Idol ended up watching the game as it went into overtime. We feel sorry for those who only caught like two minutes on their DVRs. When will there be a DVR that can recognize when that shizz happens??
The network had an average 18.7 rating/40 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and an average 50 million total viewers throughout the night, which was more than enough to claim victory.
Plus, even though east coasters had to wait until almost 11:00pm to watch Idol, they still took a 7.9 rating in the demo and 19.8 million total viewers, according to time-zone adjusted numbers — a big leap from Thursday!
Those are some seriously impressive numbers!
