Nick Reiner’s powerhouse lawyer Alan Jackson has withdrawn from the case! Uh oh…
TMZ broke the news on Wednesday. A source told the outlet that Alan was expected to show up to the court on Wednesday for Nick’s arraignment — except he was only there to remove himself from the case! An insider said Rob and Michele’s son would be represented by a PUBLIC DEFENDER for the remainder of the case and wasn’t expected to enter a plea.

Per the outlet, the judge signed off on the 32-year-old’s change in legal representation. With Alan out of the picture, he will now be represented by public defender Kimberly Greene, who has 19 years of experience. It’s unclear at this time if he will stick with this public defender or seek different legal representation moving forward. His new arraignment was scheduled for February 23.
Nick spoke up during the hearing to confirm he understood, saying:
“Uh, yeah, I agree with that.”
He will remain in custody with no bail and did not enter a plea.
So, WTF happened?? This is a shocking and sudden change! Well, a spokesperson for the Reiner family — who reportedly hired the expensive lawyer — said of the change per the New York Times:
“They have the utmost trust in the legal process and will not comment further on matters related to the legal proceedings.”
And an insider also told the outlet that the switch had nothing to do with the attorney’s “performance,” calling him “a professional.” Huh.
