Sometimes, we flick through the mutiple VH1 endorsed channels, hoping for a glimpse of the show Newlyweds. You remember – Jessica Simpson would be saying something endearingly stoopid, while Nick Lachey would lounge about the house, constipated with jealousy and envy over his wife’s success.
It really was a great show.
Now, these two fragmented 90s performers are just trying desperately to get back to what they once were. Jessica has done decently for herself, but Nick hasn’t done much since he released an album dedicated to hating on his ex-wife, which is the only reason anyone bought it in the first place.
But fear not, because Nick is looking to get back into the reality game. A source close to Nick reveals that VH1 is welcoming him back into the fold with open arms, developing a show based on Nick trying to revive his music carer. The source explains:
”The show will show him getting back into the music industry and feature his former 98 Degrees band mates.”
Sure, why not! The rode his coattails all through the 90s. Why should anything change?!
One face you won’t see too often because Nick had it worked into his contract is Nick’s GF Vanessa Minnillo. The source explains that she won’t be a very big part of the show, but the show won’t be about their “relationship…at all”.
That’s what went wrong the last time, remember? Hell if Nick is going to be upstaged by his beautiful babe this time!
Good luck with it Nick, but we’ll stick to reruns of Newlyweds. At least those are funny in a “ha-ha” way, not a “boy, are you truly pathetic way!”
