53,358 (and counting) angry fans isn’t enough to deter Nickelback from performing!
Despite Detroit Lion fans starting an online petition to prevent the band from playing during their Thanksgiving game halftime show, there are no plans to change the scheduled entertainment.
In fact, Nickelback sounds pret-ty stoked to perform. Frontman Chad Kroeger said in a statement:
“We are honored to perform at the United Way halftime show on Thanksgiving Day. We always love playing in Detroit, our fans there have been tremendously supportive of us through the years and we can’t wait to come back and celebrate an exciting day for the Lions and the city of Detroit.”
“Supportive” isn’t exactly the word we would use to describe these Detroit fans. The band obviously haven’t seen their online petition! LOLz!
We just hope Chad and his boys will be “honored” when over 50,000 boos fill the stadium, followed by 2 quarter’s worth of leftover concession food flying toward the stage.
Good luck, guys!
