UPDATE 8/1/20 3:15 PST: Nicki Minaj‘s husband WILL legally be allowed to attend the birth of the couple’s first child together!
According to court docs obtained by The Blast, a judge granted Kenneth Petty‘s request to tweak pretrial release conditions so that he can be by his wife’s side should she go into labor at any given time. The judge ordered Petty will remain on “location monitoring” but will not have “residential restrictions,” which means he can now technically travel with Nicki, too.

Kenneth Petty doesn’t want his pesky criminal history to be the reason he misses out on the birth of his child!
According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj’s husband just submitted legal docs begging the judge in his pending criminal case to modify the terms of his pretrial release conditions so he can occasionally travel with the Super Bass singer on business as her manager and be there for the upcoming birth of their baby.
As we reported, Kenneth was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in California when he moved to the state with the Grammy nominee. Although he’s since registered, Petty’s still legally grounded, so to speak: he has a curfew and his travel is restricted to California.

But the convicted rapist is now asking the judge to tweak his release conditions so he can be by his wife’s side if she gives birth past his curfew. According to the 42-year-old’s docs, the US Attorney’s Office and pretrial services office don’t oppose his request, so now it all comes down to the judge. Kenneth — whose sex offender status stems from a 1995 New York conviction for first-degree attempted rape — is hoping for the best, though, as he was recently gave him permission to surf the web.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Petty is living her best pregnant life on Instagram. On Thursday, the superstar gave fans a peek at her growing baby bump while rapping her new song Move Ya Hips. The 37-year-old, who is said to be six months preggo, looked hawt in a matching printed bra top and underwear set as she sat on a pillow-laded bed spitting out the lyrics to her latest tune with A$AP Ferg and MadeinTYO. But as you can see (below), her growing belly stole the show:

Of course, the Barbie Dreams rapper’s pregnancy hasn’t been all glitz and glamour. Earlier in the day, the star talked about dealing with morning sickness as she shared a throwback photo of herself taken before she was showing.

She wrote in the caption:
“While I was in Trinidad earlier this year, I had the worst morning sickness of all time. Didn’t know morning sickness could last all day either.. But nevertheless, this is one of the pics I took b4 you could see my lil baby bump.”
