Mayor Of Philadelphia Apologizes For Nicki Minaj?! Find Out What Upset Him HERE!

Really, Philadelphia? You didn’t see this one coming?
Over 4th of July weekend, Nicki Minaj, along with other performers, like Ed Sheeran, performed at a ‘family friendly,’ concert along the Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.
Sounds fun, right?
Well, concert-goers got a surprise when Nicki let the curses fly when she performed her single, ‘Yass Bish,’ which is full of profanities(shocker!).
The Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter, was PISSED when he found out because Nicki had allegedly agreed, along with the other performers, to modify her lyrics to be less profane…AKA NO CURSING. Nutter was even more angry when 83% of readers of Philly Magazine agreed that the concert was too raunchy!
Nutter held a press conference and said:

“Performers are required to perform in such a way that is subject to network broadcast standards and practices.”

Nutter also went on to claim that Nicki’s crew originally changed the ‘Yass Bish,’ to a more family friendly, ‘Yes Chick,’ a modification which obviously didn’t make it to the stage.
While we’re sad to hear so many families were offended, we think the mayor of Philly should have REALLY thought about the appropriateness of his performers BEFORE the event.
Hopefully the next 4th of July event goes off without a hitch!
