We have the latest from Nicki Minaj‘s mom.
Carol Maraj sat down with Charles Fisher of The Hip Hop ‘Hood Report’ to discuss her son Jelani Maraj‘s child rape conviction.
If you need a quick refresher, he was convicted in 2017 for predatory sexual assault of his then 11-year-old stepdaughter. The Queen rapper’s sibling is facing 25 years to life in prison, but his mother and legal team are still working to clear Maraj’s name.

Nicki’s mother is extremely candid in the lengthy interview (above), and believes several instances of jury misconduct played a factor in the 39-year-old’s trial.
Carol claims that the prosecutors used “inconclusive DNA evidence”, called the case a “witch hunt,” and says that jurors were negatively influenced by her daughter’s celebrity and notable absence from the trial.
The Pinkprint star’s mother also reveals an alternate juror’s claims that her son would be a free man because there was no real evidence against him. The juror was turned away from the case and spoke out to the press after the fact.
