Looks as though it may very well be the end of the line for Nicollette Sheridan!
The actress had been attempting to secure a re-trial in her wrongful dismissal case against Desperate Housewives and its creator, Marc Cherry, but according to a ruling issued by the California Court of Appeals on Friday:
“It is further ordered that the retrial currently set for September 10 is hereby stayed pending further order of the court.”
According to sources close to the situation, the appeals court seems to think that Touchstone and ABC Studios were not in the wrong for choosing to not renew her contract!
However, the actress’ lawyer, Mark Baute, maintains:
“The temporary stay is designed to clarify and resolve those issues before the September trial starts.”

We’ll definitely be curious to find out whether or not this will gain some legal traction again or if the case is officially dead in the water!
