Welcome ladies and gentlefans of the world, we present to you Miss Edie Britt Nicollette Sheridan!!
The former housewife took the stand yesterday to complete her testimony in the $6 million lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and ABC.
Sheridan discussed a letter that she had received from ABC’s Human Resource department dismissing the seriousness of her allegations against Marc Cherry and how he supposedly whacked her on the head.
The actress stated that the letter was:
├óΓé¼┼ô…an appalling, outrageous lie.├óΓé¼┬¥
Miss Sheridan DID admit that she DID NOT take any further action against the network at the time, choosing to remain silent on the subject.
That silence continued into a sexual harrassment seminar held a month later, a seemingly perfect opportunity to air grievances against Mr. Cherry. Sheridan did not mention the incident, however, claiming:
“Quite frankly I was afraid of being retaliated against…I wasn├óΓé¼Γäót sure what the HR department or what any HR department really was.├óΓé¼┬¥
Really, Sheridan? Using ignorance as an excuse does not seem to help your case here…
The actress also got teary-eyed when presented with a note from an ABC exec who praised her performance at one of the table-reads during her last season on the show.
Awww, Sher! No need to get all misty, now get it together!! You can’t be all emotional during the cross-examination. Them lawyers are sharks and tears are their lifeblood!
During the cross-examination Sheridan was asked about a previous letter submitted to the court which referred to the violent action from Cherry as a slap in the face, not a whack on the head. But, Sheridan had already had her lawyers amend the letter, so this really wasn’t any hard evidence to say she was lying.
Nicollette’s lawyer also had her discuss part of her testimony from last week, when she talked about The Golden Globes and how she was snubbed when the Hollywood Foreign Press put her in the Best Supporting Category, when a few of the other Housewives were put up for Best Leading.
This is important because Marc Cherry claims Sheridan was never a lead character on the show – that├óΓé¼Γäós why they could kill her off in season 5. Sheridan believes that this was all just a strategy by the creators to prevent her from competing with the other acterssess from the show.
And, FINALLY…Sheridan’s lawyer had her discuss the fact that she went out to Tiffany’s after the supposed incident with Cherry. She claims this was NOT a shopping trip but a meeting with a friend.
Annnd we’re done! PHEW. We know…it├óΓé¼Γäós a lot to take in.
Now you have her full side of the story, do U think Sheridan deserves to win her case???
