Sad, sad news.
We are going to have to wait at least another year to see what Michael Bay does with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
The planned reboot, which was already in pre-production in Vancouver, has been SHUT DOWN by Paramount Pictures because of script problems.
The future of the movie is uncertain too. Some sources say production has simply been pushed back by 10 weeks, but others claim the hiatus is “indefinite.”
It doesn’t sound like they are scrapping the whole thing though. Instead of a Christmas 2013 release, it may hit theaters by May 2014.
We hope they figure out those script problems quickly because this is one remake we totally support! Wonder what went wrong on paper?
Maybe the studio wasn’t a fan of Bay’s decision to completely change the characters origin and make them Transformers aliens instead of mutants…
