Eric Holder, the man police believe murdered the rapper, has been charged by the Los Angeles County D.A. with one count of first degree murder.
According to TMZ, he also faces two counts of attempted murder for the shootings of bystanders Kerry Lathan and Shermi Cervabta Villanueva, who were standing with Hussle at the time of the shooting, as well as one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Holder’s bail has been set at a seemingly unreachable $7 MILLION. He faces life in prison if convicted.
UPDATE 5:30 P.M. EST: The man who allegedly shot and killed Nipsey Hussle has been caught.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to CBS2 in Los Angeles they had caught a man they believed to be Eric Holder, and were only awaiting identity confirmation from the LAPD.
Holder remains the sole suspect in the slaying; while some are saying online the shooting was gang related, the LAPD has stated they believe Holder killed the rapper over “a personal matter.”
The female getaway driver has not yet been apprehended, but TMZ reports a woman claiming to be her told them she was innocent and had no idea what Holder had just done.
We’ll have to wait and see if the driver turns herself in with the same story.

Police are on the lookout for the man they believe fatally shot rapper Nipsey Hussle.
The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement late Monday night asking the public for help in locating 29-year-old Eric Holder (above, insert), whom they have named a suspect in the Grammy nominee’s murder.

The statement, which came just a day after Hussle was fatally gunned down in the parking lot outside of his store, Marathon Clothing Company, in South El Lay, explained that the suspect “walked up to” Hussle and two other male adults at around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday and “fired numerous shots at them,” continuing:

“The suspect ran southbound through an adjacent valley to a waiting vehicle. The suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle and fled the area. The vehicle is a 2016 Chevy Cruze, white four doors, CA license plate 7RJD742. The vehicle was driven by an unidentified female… Detectives have worked tirelessly and are now asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect in this case.”

As the statement explains, Hussle, real name Ermias Asghedom, died as a result of the gunshot wounds he sustained in both his head and torso. The other two victims are still alive.
News of the murder was a shock to many — but apparently not to those who were working closely with the Double Up performer, according to TMZ sources.

The outlet reported on Monday that someone was “out to kill” Hussle in the days before he was fatally gunned down, and those he was working with were taking extreme measures to protect the rapper.
Insiders told TMZ that there was great concern over Hussle’s safety last Thursday during the music video shoot for the upcoming track Higher, which he collaborated on with DJ Khaled and John Legend. The All of Me singer reflected on the shoot in a tweet on Sunday, writing:

“RIP Nipsey. I just spent Thursday with him filming a video for a beautiful new song we created with Khaled. We filmed in Inglewood, close to where he grew up. He was so gifted, so proud of his home, so invested in his community. Utterly stunned that he’s gone so soon.”

The outlet reports that while the production only booked the top two floors of a parking structure for the crew to use for the shoot, they wanted the entire structure shut down so that only those working on the video would have access to it.
The production is also said to have hired 10 armed police officers due to paranoia that someone would try to sneak on the set and kill the 33-year-old. It’s unclear exactly what the threat was, but cops have said they believe the killing might be gang related.
Nipsey may have alluded to this in his final tweet. Mere minutes before the shooting, the rapper chillingly tweeted about the blessings of having “enemies,” writing:

“Having strong enemies is a blessing.”

The suspect in Nipsey’s murder was named hours after chaos erupted at his memorial service outside his clothing store, with hundreds of mourners running for their lives.
According to the LAPD, at least six people were injured in the incident. While initial reports suggested some people had been shot, police say there is “no evidence” of gunfire and believe that the victims were “possibly stabbed.”
The department also shared a statement about the incident on Twitter, writing:

“Our men and women are on scene and making every effort to protect everyone in attendance at the Nipsey Hussle vigil.
Reports of shots fired at the vigil do not appear to be accurate. We do have injured in the chaos and are attempting to restore order.”

Police chief Michel Moore later added:

“Informally initial report by LA Fire identifying 12 treated at scene, one transported. No clear nature of that injury. Many treated on scene for sprained ankles.”

Videos of the chaos on Twitter show the swarms of mourners fleeing the parking lot where the rapper’s clothing store is located. See the chaos for yourself (below).

Just horrible.
Our hearts go out to Nipsey’s loved ones, particularly his longtime girlfriend Lauren London, and his two children, Kross and Emani, at this devastating time.
