No Doubt's Guitarist Tom Dumont Shares He Was Diagnosed With Early-Onset Parkinson's 'A Number Of Years Ago' -- See His Health Update

Tom Dumont has shared a health update with his fans.

The guitarist for the iconic band No Doubt took to his Instagram on Sunday to reveal he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease quite some time ago. He says in the emotional video:

“I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, did a whole bunch of tests, and I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. It’s been a struggle. It’s a struggle every day.”

So sad to hear!

Of course, fans were concerned about his health — and also his ability to participate in the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency. But no need to worry, Tom seems super positive and says he can “still play music”:

“I can still play guitar. I’ve been doing really well.”

And even though he said he was diagnosed “a number of years ago,” he thinks now is the perfect time to share his story:

“I’ve just been very inspired by other people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media, and that sort of thing. I think it helps erase some of the stigma, and it raises awareness obviously. And awareness is really important for prevention and for research.”

How inspiring! Such a brave thing for him to do.

Wrapping up his video, Tom said it’s been so “fun” to rehearse for the group’s May residency at the Las Vegas Sphere:

“Looking through old footage and looking at old photographs and relearning old songs and rehearsing … it’s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead as a musician all these years. I’m really excited about the shows, can’t wait to see everybody.”
