Reports are surfacing that CNN has agreed to an extension of Larry King‘s contract.
The live talk show anchor will now stay on through 2010, which will last beyond his 77th birthday.
Poor Katie Couric, she was hoping to get his spot one day!
A current New York Times about Katie’s post-CBS future claims, “Couric discussed several things she might do if she left the anchor post, according to the executives, including a daily talk show to be syndicated by CBS, or replacing Larry King in a prime-time position on CNN.”
Too bad it won’t happen. She’d kill the show with poor ratings anyways!
Although CNN doesn’t comment on employee contracts, a spokesperson did say, “Larry is the best there is, he’ll be here for a long time.”
Let’s hope he doesn’t die on air!
