We haven’t been quiet about how we think Russia’s anti-gay laws are bullshizz, and a whole lot of the world agrees. We mean, even Germany’s President has refused to attend the games because of them!
Now, we’re hearing that Obama is making a stand — but it’s less about a full boycott than it is a middle finger to archaic and anti-equality practices!
He’s sending two OPENLY GAY DELEGATES to the winter Olympics in Sochi!! Tennis legend Billie Jean King, and ice hockey phenom Caitlin Cahow are both part of the chosen U.S. delegation and both are proud and out lesbians.
But wait, that’s not all!
Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and first lady Michelle Obama will not attend the opening ceremony! It’ll be the first time since 2000 that that’s happened!
We are so glad the President hasn’t decided to sit back and do nothing about this! However slight it might be, it’s SOMETHING, and we’re super proud of the decision!
