How Many Reasons Do You Need? Obesity Might Lower Cognitive Function!

Fat Cognitive
The time is now to get in shape and to be healthy!
Don’t put it off!
A new study suggest that among the other slew of health problems, obesity might even lower your cognitive function!
It was published in the journal Age and Aging. The study itself included 250 people older than 59 who underwent a variety of weight measurement, scans and cognitive performance tests.
And guess what? Those between 60 and 70 with the highest BMIs had the lowest cognitive function.
Here’s what the doctors say:

├óΓé¼┼ôAging is characterized by lean body mass loss and adipose tissue increase without weight gain, which may not be captured by BMI, and traditional adiposity measures like BMI are less useful in elderly persons.”

The thing is, though, after 70 that association kinda disappears:

“A higher BMI is related to lower dementia risk in the oldest old. It is possible that persons with low BMI lost their weight because of premorbid dementia. It is also possible that a low BMI is the consequence of hyperinsulinemia (high insulin levels), which precedes weight loss and is related to higher dementia risk.├óΓé¼┬¥

Ugh, this is just more reason to get into shape, and to stay in shape!
NO MORE EXCUSES!
