Mika Abdalla and Jake Short are addressing that controversial clip!
In case you missed it, an old video from the A.N.T Farm‘s The Sit and Chat podcast resurfaced when the Off Campus actress announced this week that the pair called off their engagement after five years together — and it royally pissed off fans! Why, you may ask? In it, Jake called Mika “some b**ch” when asked to describe her! WTF! His co-host, Bradley Steven Perry, and his wife, Natasha Bure, even looked shocked and sat in silence for a few moments after his words! Ch-ch-check it out (below):

Jake’s rudeness continued when Mika asked for his extra shirt when she got cold, and he flat-out refused! He didn’t even budge when their pals demanded he give it to The Pitt star! Ugh!
Off Campus fans immediately blasted Jake online once the video went viral, calling him everything from “toxic” to “nasty,” and more. However, you won’t find Mika publicly agreeing with social media users! No, she is putting on a united front with her ex-fiancé! Mika and Jake issued a joint statement about the controversy to Us Weekly on Friday, saying:
“We’ve seen a conversation around clips of us together when we were in a relationship, and people making harmful and inaccurate assumptions about our dynamic.”
The pair then insisted they “were in a loving, respectful relationship for five years” and “it’s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other.” That may be so, but the so-called “joke” of the Disney Channel alum calling Mika “some b**ch” really wasn’t funny. It is actually very disrespectful. And Jake recognizes that now!
He also took to Instagram Stories on Friday to acknowledge how rude his comment was to Mika, saying:
“I made a disrespectful, juvenile joke in a clip that recirculated this week. It’s imperative to me that I take accountability as I am aware that it was inappropriate. It’s not representative of who I am or who I was in my relationship, but I continue to learn from this situation and work to show people the respect they deserve.”
We guess at least he’s owning up to it! See the post (below):
Hopefully, Jake learned a valuable lesson here! Don’t call your future partner “some b**ch!”
