Olivia Munn Reveals Mom Kim Didn't Meet John Mulaney Until Their Son Was Born!

Olivia Munn is spilling all the tea on her mom and husband meeting for the first time!

While on Late Night on Monday, the actress spoke to host Seth Meyers about when she gave birth to her first child with John Mulaney. The subject was brought up after Seth showed her a photo of the newborn holding a turkey drumstick. Well, Olivia then went into a story about how the day before Thanksgiving in 2021, her mother Kim Munn came face-to-face with the comedian for the very first time! And THAT is what led to the wild picture:

“My mom comes — first of all, never met John by this point — so, she arrives with a suitcase from Oklahoma … Doesn’t even say ‘hi’ to John.”

Whoa! What an introduction… but it doesn’t stop there! Olivia continued:

“She unzips her suitcase and takes out frozen turkeys. She’s like ‘It’s from Oklahoma’. She thinks it’s so exciting they’re from Oklahoma, but they’re Butterball.”

LOLz! Kim’s reasoning for the turkeys, though? In her first chat with her son-in-law, she said:

“You know, it’s so exciting. In my family, with all of our kids, a tradition is that we put a drumstick in their hand for their first Thanksgiving when they’re a baby.”

From there, Olivia explained John was totally cool with the tradition and was on board!

But the actress totally saw through her mom’s jabber, and butted in:

“John was like ‘Oh, that’s cool’. He says to me, ‘Hey, your mom is gonna do this thing.’ And I’m like, ‘That is NOT a tradition! What is she talking about?'”

Kim was persistent, though:

“She goes, ‘No, it is a tradition, every Thanksgiving, for everybody’s first Thanksgiving.’ So I call my siblings, I say ‘Do we have any photos of this?’ They said, ‘No, cause she’s lying! That’s not true!'”
