Uh-oh, what would Danny Tanner think about this?!
On Tuesday, reports surfaced that the Olsen Twins are being sued by a former intern at the moguls’ fashion house, The Row. The intern, Shahista Lalani, has organized a class action lawsuit with 40 other interns that are demanding compensation for 50 hour work weeks they endured without pay or college credit. Not to mention the interns allege they worked under horrible and excruciating conditions!

Shahista revealed:

“It was like 100 degrees outside. I’d just be sweating to death. I probably carried like 50 pounds worth of trench coats. I’d be inputting data into spreadsheets, making tech sheets, running personal errands for paid employees, organizing materials, photocopying, sewing, pattern cutting, among other related duties.”

While those tasks sound like the common duties of an intern, the now designer claims paid employees should have taken on some of these duties. Not to mention it’s illegal to hire an intern without some form of compensation, whether it be monetary or educational.
Lalani added:

“The head technical designer was very demanding. I was doing the work of three interns. I was talking to her all day, all night. E-mails at nighttime for the next day, like 10 p.m. at night. She was like, ├óΓé¼╦£Go get my Advil. I need this and this because I’m feeling sick and I have this meeting.”

Unsurprisingly, Mary-Kate and Ashley‘s company rep shot back, saying:

“As an initial matter, Dualstar is an organization that is committed to treating all individuals fairly and in accordance with all applicable laws. The allegations in the complaint filed against Dualstar are groundless, and Dualstar will vigorously defend itself against plaintiff’s claims in court, not before the media. Dualstar is confident that once the true facts of this case are revealed, the lawsuit will be dismissed in its entirety.”

Sounds like this is about to get contentious! We just wonder why Shahista waited so long to file the lawsuit…
So, whose side are U on?
