Olympic Figure Skater And Silver Medal Winner Lets His Claws Out

While hottie US ice skater Evan Lysacek won the Olympic gold medal last night, not everyone was happy for him.

Especially silver winner, and former Gold medalist, Russian Evgeni Plushenko.

Yesterday, Lysacek became the first US man to win the Olympic gold medal since 1988. But Plushenko, who retired the past three years, had returned with the goal to win a second straight gold medal.

So normally, he was upset to learn he didn’t win the gold. But who knew the Russian skater could be so bitter? Said the catty diva:

“I was positive that I won. But I suppose Evan needs a medal more than I do. Maybe it’s because I already have one. But I have to share with you, two silver and one Olympic gold medal is not too bad.”

He then commented on Lysacek’s routine and decision not to include the quadruple jump by saying:

“If the Olympic champion doesn’t know how to jump a quad, I don’t know. Now it’s not men’s figure skating, now it’s dancing.”

Adding about his win:

“I am happy with my performance today. After 3├é┬╜ years [off] you can win the silver, it’s not bad. I knew I would accept any outcome. After this defeat, I’m not going to put my hands down and stop.”

And there you have it. Congrats Evan!
