Scary Moment At Olympics As Snowboarder Breaks His Neck In Fall

So scary!
Olympic snowboarders take their lives in their hands every time they launch 15 feet into the air, but it’s rare we see the danger up close.
On Thursday, Austria’s Markus Schairer lost control of his board during his second to last jump and came down on his back, snapping his neck backward.

The Austrian Olympic committee confirmed Schairer had fractured his fifth cervical vertebrae — and somehow was able to stand on his own after a few moments and finish the course!
They don’t believe there is any long-term damage or mental impairment, which frankly is a freakin’ miracle.
Sending positive vibes and hoping for your speedy recovery, Markus!
