Boys will be boys!
To celebrate all five of them being 18, Niall Horan recalls the time when he and his One Direction brothers hit up the casinos across the pond for some good ole’ bro time!
But uh-oh… their management wasn’t gonna be happy!!
After gambling a lot of money away, Niall says their mgmt came down HARD on the boys, explaining:
“Like most of the stupid things we do, it seemed like it was a good idea at the time. We just thought, ‘We’re 18, this is the first time we’ve been able to spend a bit of money in weeks because we’ve been on the road.’ I won ├é┬ú100, which seemed reasonable, then I stopped. But I’ll have to say, ‘No comment’ about the others. Let’s just say it got a bit ugly and a lot of money was lost. A lot. When our management found out, we got a serious dressing-down about it.”
Ouchie!! Aww… hopefully that’s a lesson learned for the youngins!
(And if you’ve been wondering, yes — 18 is the legal gambling age in the UK.)
Louis chimed in to say that even though they got in trouble, their bond helps them stay away from the similar problems:
“I think that’s the beauty of being in a band. Often people who have had fame from such a young age as solo artists find it harder to stay grounded, because it’s just them. But with us, we’ve got each other. The minute one of us falls out of line, another one of us will set them straight!”
OMG!! Camaraderie!! Lovvvve it!!!
Welp! It’s definitely a good thing they have each other! Because they dooo seem to be tempted by the seductive lights of the casinos!
