No question Directioners are a passionate bunch!

So passionate, actually, that One Direction‘s very own Liam Payne had to go on the offensive after fans started bullying new GF Sophia Smith via Twitter.

While there are endless tweets bashing the Liam’s new lady love after the twosome went public at the This Is Us premiere, one meany wrote, “F**K YOU SOPHIA SMITH!!! Hope that you and my Liam won’t be in a relationship for so long!!”

OUCH!

Of course, Liam felt the need to step in to defend his woman.
