Who DARE criticize the MILLIONS of dollars One Direction EARNED by seducing the young ladies (and gay boys) of the world with their vanilla tunes and cheeky attitudes?! LOLz!
Well, there IS one who dares…
U.K. Business Secretary Vince Cable is reportedly backpedalling on earlier not-so-nice statements regarding the boyband’s $38 million 2012 paycheck!
Cable apparently said that 1D’s excessive 2012 earnings were “grossly immoral” and that:
“I think it is mad that the members of the boy band New Direction made ├é┬ú5 million ($7 million) each last year. I think it is crazy that many of the footballers are routinely paid ├é┬ú10 million a year to play football.”
And yes… he DID refer to the band as New Direction.
Hmmmm could this particular member of the U.K. government be a fan of Glee?! LOLzz!
Anyway, Mr. Cable later retracted his comments, stating:
“I don’t want to attack One Direction, this is one particular group who are apparently very popular and very successful so I have nothing against them.”
Oh dear, was someone chastised for seemingly not supporting an English (and Irish) National Treasure?! A treasure that we’re sure brings in LOTS of revenue for the country?!
Ah well, it’s not like the dude’s statement would have deterred Directioners from listening to their fave musical quintet.
