So unfortunate.
Oprah Winfrey‘s charity, the Angel Network – which raised nearly $80 million in its efforts to help Hurricana Katrina victims and those living in third world countries – has stopped accepting donations and will be shutting down after its assets have been dispersed.
The website released a statement that says:
“Oprah remains deeply committed to philanthropy, and her new cable network – OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network – will continue to highlight charitable organizations in conjunction with its programming in the years ahead.”
The Big O should be very proud of what she was able to accomplish with the Angel Network! We can’t even imagine how many lives that charity bettered!
