As Oprah Winfrey took her entire audience to Australia, the Queen of Talk made her first stop on Queensland’s Hamilton Island this week.
Not only is she expected to hold a private party for the 100-plus fans who have joined her, but she met Queensland Premier Anna Bligh and got to hold a koala for the first time.
Bligh said:
“While she was doing it, a couple of other koalas wandered on to the branch in front of her eyes and decided to have a romantic moment together. So not many people ever get to see that and Oprah thought it was absolutely hilarious, so I think we’ll see all of that on US television as well.”
She is also extremely pleased about what the big O’s visit could do for Australia.
The Premier added:
“The US market is a very big market for us and these visitors who come and when they’re here spend a lot of money and we want to make sure they tell their friends about it and have a terrific time.
Oprah Winfrey can take these pictures of Queensland to millions of people. It’s advertising that no-one could afford to buy.”
So true!
