While Meghan Markle‘s love story may seem like a fairytale come to life, it appears that the Suits actress has suffered some serious “racial abuse” leading up to her May 19 nuptials.
And, according to Mirror Online, Miz Markle’s momma plans to discuss this topic with none other than *drum roll* Oprah Winfrey. Alright, that seems right.
Video: Here’s Where Prince Louis Stands In The Royal Family!
Per the report, Doria Ragland is prepared to sit down with the media mogul for a “groundbreaking” interview about Meghan’s transition into royal life. Apparently, the 61-year-old was seen leaving Oprah’s California estate some time last week.
It’s said that Ragland spent six hours at Winfrey’s residence and the twosome discussed topics for their chat during the visit. A source told the publication:
“Oprah and Doria spent a long time chatting and they got on really well. The most important and significant issue they spoke about was race and how badly some people had reacted to Meghan and Harry.
What happened to Meghan and Harry was disgusting and they and all of their families were horrified. It’s an issue close to both Doria and Oprah, who have both suffered racism.”
As you surely know, Meghan is biracial as her mother is black and her father is white.
And in case you forgot, prior to their engagement, Prince Harry broke from protocol and made a statement about his relationship, as the American divorcée and her family were hit with an abundance of racist harassment.
Although Doria was directly affected by her daughter’s very public romance, the soon-to-be wed couple and Buckingham Palace must approve of the interview before it can take place. We doubt Doria is going to do anything to piss off the royal family, as she’s to have a role in the upcoming royal wedding!
Still, we’re eager to see the interview between Oprah and Doria. We mean, YOU KNOW that’d be a good piece!!
