Attention, Inmates! Orange Is The New Black Just Got Renewed For THREE More Seasons!

It looks like the inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary have gotten their sentences extended — which is great news for us!
Because Netflix announced it was renewing Orange is the New Black for THREE more seasons!
In the deal, the streaming service got commitment from showrunner Jenji Kohan to stay on through season seven of the ensemble dramedy!
After killing it at the SAG Awards and becoming Neftlix’s most watched TV show, it’s no surprise that this groundbreaking series was renewed!

Kohan promised the writers would be “keeping it interesting” for the upcoming seasons, saying:

“Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, ├óΓé¼╦£May you lead an interesting life,’ is a curse, but I don’t live in those cultures. Here’s to keeping it interesting. Thanks Netflix! Both thanks and you’re welcome Lionsgate! And kudos and gratitude to the stellar cast and crew and writers and producers and editors and musicians and mixers and shleppers├óΓé¼┬ª with whom I have the pride and honor of crafting this show. Three more years! Three more years!”

We’re not sure how much longer those ladies will stay in prison, but at this rate it looks like they’re serving a life sentence — and we’re totally okay with that!
Season four of OITNB is available for streaming June 17 on Netflix!
