This would be awesome to have, but it’d be cheaper to just pick up the Citizen Kane blu-ray for $40!
Earlier this month, El Lay’s Nate D. Sanders Auctions announced that they’d be putting Orson Welles‘ Citizen Kane Oscar up for sale online.
Sure enough, the item caught interest of quite a few buyers, including David Copperfield who placed a bid on the award.
In the end, the Oscar sold for $861,542 to “an undisclosed buyer”
Here’s what auction house owner Nate D. Sanders had to say about it:
“This is a testament to the popularity of Orson Welles and his magnum opus Citizen Kane.”
Congratulations to the lucky buyer! The mantel above their fireplace is about to look MUCH cooler! Ha!
What do U think? Is Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane Oscar worth over $860K???
