Last night, one of the biggest highlights of the Oscars was when the always stunning Adele Dazeem took the stage to sing her award-winning song Let It Go from Frozen!
Um, excuse us. What we meant to say was Idina Menzel!
It’s a pretty easy mistake to make. Just ask John Travolta, whose mispronunciation did NOT go unnoticed as tons of celebrities from Mario Lopez to Sarah Michelle Gellar took to Twitter to address the major flub:
Travolta is the man…But AdeleNazim ?!

Travolta fucked up her name. It's "Idina Menzel." One of the best voices on Earth. @idinamenzel

Oh. No. My five year old just looked at me and said "it's IDINA MENZEL." I mean, obviously, John. Good grief.

I literally (Chris Traeger voice) can’t stop laughing at the hot mess that was Jorm Tramolta’s intro 2 Adele Dazeem 4 the film Brozen. 😂😂😂😂😂

Wait, John Travolta u don't know @idinamenzel 's name?
— Constance Zimmer (@oczimmer) March 3, 2014
Yikes! It looks like somebody should have practiced the pronunciation before taking the stage!
Oh well, it could have been a lot worse! You’ll get ’em next time, Jorm Tramolta!
