They’re really cracking down on this shiz!
Robert Henderson of Missouri has been sentenced to two years in prison after recording The Dark Knight in the movie theater and selling it on DVD. The Motion Picture Association of America began an investigation about the incident in July 2009.
Henderson pleaded guilty back in October and will now serve two years in federal prison and pay a fine of $24,738. MPAA spokesperson Mike Robinson says:
“This is an appropriate sentence for a very serious crime, and we hope it will serve as a warning to would-be movie thieves that they will face severe consequences for engaging in these activities.”
He’s not kidding! Lesson learned!
