A paralyzed man was able to walk again after doctors performed an amazing procedure.
Doctors took olfactory cells (scent smelling cells) and transplanted them into the patient’s spinal cord. The patient was paralyzed from the chest down after a knife attack severed his spine.
After the olfactory cells were transplanted, they formed a “nerve bridge” between two parts of damaged spinal column.

The procedure is by no means a miracle cure but it did do some amazing things, like restore some sensation to his limbs and even allowed him to move them a little!!
For someone who’s paralyzed, any movement is a miracle.
The doctors explain that more research is needed into this type of treatment but we feel any success in this field, no matter how small, deserves to be celebrated.
