For parents in Colorado, Halloween just got a whole lot scarier. Kind of. Maybe.
In Colorado, where marijuana was legalized in 2012, parents have been alerted to a very ‘serious’ threat: innocent trick-or-treaters may be duped into eating pot disguised as candy.

The possibility of such incidents are rare but they CAN happen thanks to marijuana infused edibles, which look a lot like candy.
Authorities explained:
“The problem is some of these products look so similar to candy that’s been on the market that we’ve eaten as children. There’s really no way for a child or a parent, or anybody, even an expert in the field, to tell you whether a product is infused or not.”
Wow, this COULD be frightening for parents — but basically, just be vigilant. We mean, we’re not sure anyone would want to give away their expensive pot candy in the first place, so it would have to be an accident. Also, razor blades have always been a “concern” but never really seems to happen, so maybe just take this all with a grain of salt too.
Police advise parents to inspect all candy and warn that kids should never eat anything from a homemade bag, but parents should straight up be doing this anyway!
