Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field has come out to defend John Galliano‘s “I love Hitler” video, saying it was all “farce”
She told WWD:
“People in fashion all they do is go and see John Galliano theater every season. That├óΓé¼Γäós what he gives them. To me, this was the same except it wasn├óΓé¼Γäót in a theater or in a movie. John lives in theater. It├óΓé¼Γäós theater. It├óΓé¼Γäós farce. But people in fashion don├óΓé¼Γäót recognize the farce in it. All of a sudden they don├óΓé¼Γäót know him. But it├óΓé¼Γäós OK when it├óΓé¼Γäós Mel Brooks The Producers singing “Springtime for Hitler”…Fashion people who know him have not come forward. They know his theater. Believe me ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ my name is Field ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ my stepfather was Jewish.”
Wow.
We don’t know about you, but we’re struggling to find the humor in telling someone their relatives would have been gassed.
