If you’ve ever been to a sporting even and heard (and probably joined) the chant of “Na na na na, hey hey” then you know exactly who Paul Leka is — he cowrote that.
Unfortunately, Paul died on October 12th due to complication from lung cancer. He was only 68 years old.
He had an incredible life though. From signing REO Speedwagon to their first record deal to writing the song “Cats In The Cradle”, Paul did so much.
He also inadvertently created that taunting sports chant in 1969!
Paul, you’ll be missed. We’re glad your battle with cancer is finally over, and you can now rest.
