Paula Deen‘s longtime cook has just come out with MORE racism allegations!
Wait, why isn’t Paula Deen’s cook Paula Deen? Did Paula Deen just drop the racist dime on herself??
LOLz! Nope! She DOES have a cook running her restaurant, Lady & Sons, and her name is Dora Charles! You’d have to be a pretty good cook to be a famous cook’s cook. Though, that begs the question: why isn’t Dora Charles more famous than Paula??
Anyway, despite their close relationship (be it professional or friendly), Dora says Paula used racial slurs and treated her (along with other employees) in a prejudiced or even racist way!
Along with calling Dora her “soul sister” and using a racially offensive term for a black child with her and other employees, Dora says that Paula even wanted her to ring a dinner bell and holler to the crowds to come and get it. Dora said:
“I said, ‘I’m not ringing no bell.’ That├óΓé¼Γäós a symbol to me of what we used to do back in the day.”
So what happened? Paula scrapped the idea and apologized!
JUST KIDDING! She had a different employee, Ineata Jones, do it and wanted her to dress like Aunt Jemima.
WHAT??
Paula’s publicists jumped into action and had this to say:
“Fundamentally Dora’s complaint is not about race but about money. It is about an employee that despite over 20 years of generosity feels that she still deserves yet even more financial support from Paula Deen.”
In other words, totally forget all the racist examples that Dora just gave! She wants MONEY!
Yeah right! Here’s what Dora said about that:
“I’m just trying to put my story out there that she didn├óΓé¼Γäót treat me fairly and I was her soul sister.”
While we’re pretty over Paula Deen — and have been since the diabetes slight — we’re glad that more people are speaking up and finding the courage to come forward. Nobody deserves to build a multi-million-dollar empire while treating people like that!
