Oh, poor Dolly!
Paula Deen is charging ahead with her “comeback,” regardless of whether or not she’s been putting her buttery foot in her mouth — like when she recently compared her “struggles” with “that black” gay NFL play, Michael Sam.
Are we surprised? No, that’s exactly how we’d figure someone like that would operate!
We DO think she should slow it down a bit… maybe think before she speaks, holds off on going blitzkrieg trying to rebuild her empire.
Instead, she’s going to burn through $20 million or that $75-$100 million investment she got on a restaurant next to Dolly Parton├óΓé¼Γäós Dollywood theme park in Tennessee.
It has the most uninspired restaurant name ever, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, and will sit right in Pigeon Forge as a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Here’s what Bob McManus, one of the most ballsiest project developers, said:
├óΓé¼┼ôTogether, we can develop Paula Deen retail and restaurants that capture the imagination of Paula├óΓé¼Γäós massive fan base and Pigeon Forge├óΓé¼Γäós huge tourist community.”
We like to think he followed up with:
“We really hope she’s done saying awful things.”
The restaurant itself is planned to be about 20,000 square-feet and wants to open in the late summer. It’ll be right near Jimmy Buffet├óΓé¼Γäós classy Margaritaville Hotel.
You’ll be shocked to hear that more than 10 million visitors a year visit the area!
So this begs the question: Are U hungry? Have U planned your visit to Paula’s new eatery yet?
