This doesn’t sound very appetizing!
Both Paula Deen├óΓé¼Γäós Savannah restaurants, Lady & Sons, and her brother Bubba├óΓé¼Γäós place, Uncle Bubba├óΓé¼Γäós Oyster House, have a history of icky violations including Bubba’s joint getting hit with a “B” grade last year!
Bubba’s restaurant landed an 83 ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ just 4 points above a ├óΓé¼┼ôC├óΓé¼┬¥ — for inadequate hand washing facilities and improper cold holding temperatures. Yum!
The inspector wrote:
“Hand sink used as a dump sink. Repeat violation. .. Observed potentially hazardous food cold held at greater than 41 degrees.”
That was in Feb 2013, and nothing really changed in June 2013, where it got ANOTHER B rating at an 84 score!
They noted that month:
“No soap or paper towels located at hand washing sink … dirty knife magnet holder … old food buildup on shelves in coolers [that] dries and falls onto food below … observed build-up of food debris, dust or dirt … [and] dirty dumpster areas.”
Yuck!
Most recently, Lady & Sons has been under fire for violations as well! On Feb 2nd of this year, the inspector noted:
“Salad bar/buffet plates/bowls [were] not properly protected or inverted to prevent contamination. No chemical sanitizer strips available for testing the sanitizer containers.”
So they landed 98 and “A” grade.
Wait, what?? We thought those were supposed to be SUPER gross!
Well, it WAS in 2012!
They got violations like:
“Food-contact surfaces encrusted with grease and/or soil deposits, hand wash sink not accessible for employee use at all times, grit cakes found stored in walk-in cooler uncovered and subject to contamination…├óΓé¼┬¥
For a score of 89, or “B.”
At least she changed for the better — we wonder how Bubba’s doing!
Plus we hope the change in quality of her restaurant reflects changes in her life too! Especially with the comeback, the comments about Michael Sam, and her diet and diabetes!
