She’s fighting for her kid on and off screen!
Paula Patton is in the middle of a heated custody battle with Robin Thicke over their son Julian, and it looks like she found the perfect outlet for all that emotional angst.
The 41-year-old has been cast as the lead in an upcoming ABC thriller playing a protective mom!
Patton will headline the series called Somewhere Between, playing a mom named Laura Price who learns her daughter will be killed without any other details to prevent it from happening.

Laura doesn’t know who the murderer is or what their motives are, but she knows exactly when, where, and how the killing will happen. Yikes!
The Stephen Tolkin-written drama, which has a 10-episode order for the summer of 2017, will even have a supernatural twist!
Patton is also playing a protective mom IRL, as she alleged in court that her ex-husband was physically abusive towards her and their 6-year-old boy — and was awarded temporary sole custody by a judge on Thursday.
We’re glad the Baggage Claim actress has something to keep her mind of her real life drama, and we hope her custody battle ends soon.
