After Penn State removed the statue of Joe Paterno from outside of Beaver Stadium, instead of leaving the spot empty, they planted some trees there.
As we previously mentioned, the 7-foot statue was removed after the Freeh report showed that Joe Pa covered up for sex abuser, Jerry Sandusky.
The statue was originally being stored at the stadium but Penn State has since moved it to an unknown location.
Hopefully the trees will cover up the empty spot so people aren’t constantly reminded of what once stood there.
Also trees are good for the environment.
We think it’s a great choice all around.
