Oh no Instagram, what was you DOING?!
The world’s most popular social media app just got a complete interface makeover, and many of its users were not happy about it.

Gone was the better old way of scrolling through your feed vertically, and skipping past the content you may not want to see. The new, updated design made it so that posts (and ads) take up your entire screen — forcing you to tap the right or left side of the screen (like users already do with Instagram Stories) to reveal new content.
So, you’re essentially swiping right or left on your bestie’s new selfie, or your mom’s new cat photo as if it were Tinder. Yikes.
The scrolling up-and-down feature has been a staple feature of the app since day one, so naturally people were shook by the abrupt, and widely unwelcome change.
Ch-ch-check out some of the funniest, honest reactions to the IG update on Twitter below:
Me: The Instagram update can't be *that* bad

It absolutely blows my mind that Instagram works this hard to piss off its users. The Instagram update is so so so bad from a usability standpoint. I cannot understand the thought process here. Have you seen it? pic.twitter.com/QwQue6dvj6

Ahh, leave it to Twitter to say what we’re all thinking!!
The app’s development team must have heard us all, because they’ve reportedly changed the app back to its old format already!!
Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri tweeted out an apology and explanation for the accidental rollout:

Did U catch the new update before it was changed back? Thoughts?
