People Who Drink Outlive Those Who Don’t!

Hooray! This might just be the best piece of news all year.
Interestingly enough, scientists have suspected this for sometime now, but it was only when a recent study was released that scientists could conclusively say that people who drink live longer than those who abstain from alcohol.
And we’re not just talking about people who only drink a little. Heavy drinkers live longer as well!
The study, conducted over a 20-year period, found that 69% of the abstainers died during the 20 years while only 60% of the heavy drinkers and 41% of moderate drinkers died.
One reason researchers suspect that drinkers live longer is that alcohol facilitates social interaction, which is vital for a person’s mental health. Another study showed that non-drinkers were generally more depressed than those who drink.
The researchers did point out that heavy drinking can lead to other problems, such as memory impairment or addiction, which can have adverse effects on your life.
Nevertheless, this is great news for all of you drunks out there! Let’s have a party to celebrate!
