Perez Reviews: The Addams Family

We’re surprised this didn’t run on Broadway longer because we saw the touring production of The Addams Family musical at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday and we THOROUGHLY enjoyed it – from start to finish!
As they say, a feel-good hit! Family friendly fun – thanks to a very unconventional family!
Major credit goes to Andrew Lippa for such a stellar score, writing both music and lyrics! Some truly memorable songs!
Credit to book writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice for bringing so much heart to the show!
And extra credit to choreographer Sergio Trujillo and directors Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, whom under the guidance of Jerry Zaks, the show’s Anna Wintour, brought that razzle dazzle we so love from Broadway musicals!
Everyone in the cast was truly top-notch! A real standout, though, was Blake Hammond as Uncle Fester. His Act 2 song The Moon And Me is such a show stopper!
Oh, and thank you to Sara Gettelfinger’s boobs for keeping us wonderfully transfixed throughout the whole show! They deserve a Playbill listing of their own!
We’re so glad we went to the show! The Addams Family musical is must-see!
P.S. We had the pleasure of sitting next to Glee‘s Matthew Morrison at the show – and his sexy new haircut! Ha
Update: Apparently they reworked and changed the show up before the tour. Smart!
It paid off!
