Pete Davidson Stands Up For Ex-Fiancée Ariana Grande & SLAMS Her Body Shamers: 'It's F**ked Up'

Pete Davidson ain’t standin’ for it!

The comedian just did a new interview with Variety, and in it the topic of Ariana Grande comes up.

Pete and Ari first got together in the spring of 2018, quickly becoming engaged only about a month into their relationship. Their chemistry was electric but, ultimately, not aligned for longterm compatibility as they called it quits just months later.

A month after their split, Ariana released her hit song thank u, next — an anthem for any person who’s ready to move forward after life-changing breakups. In the track she name-checked Pete and other famous exes, but in a spirit of gratitude for the experiences their love offered her life. As for his piece, Pete would sometimes reference their relationship in his comedy routin.

That was years ago, though, and both have grown since then. When first asked about the Wicked star, Pete has nothing but praise, saying:

“I think Ariana’s fuckin’ cool and immensely talented and an awesome girl. We’re not texting or whatever, but we’re cool.”

And later, when the conversation steers into the subject of body image in the spotlight, he’s asked his thoughts about all the online criticisms aimed her way.

Sticking up for his ex-fiancée, he says:

“I don’t like it at all. It’s not cool. She’s a really strong person, I’ve witnessed it, and I don’t understand it. She knows how to handle this stuff though. She’s been around. So she’ll be okay, but I think it’s fucked up.”

So if anyone was wondering what kind of terms these two are on 8 years after their whirlwind romance, consider them GOOD!
