Last week, YouTube megastar PewDiePie laid down the gauntlet, saying he would delete his channel when he reached 50 million subscribers.
After a long, tortuous rant that dipped into content, clickbait, and casual racism, the video gamer declared he would kill his own channel once he hit the unprecedented milestone.

On Thursday, when it looked to be a sure thing, Mr. DiePie — real name Felix Kjellberg — seemed to confirm the claim was not a joke, tweeting:

Well, on Friday at 5 p.m. GMT, the channel… was left perfectly in tact.
C’mon. Of course he didn’t delete it — He has 50,107,822 fans now for crying out loud!

With that said, after revealing his anti-Lilly Singh rant was really just a Rick Roll, he set himself a new kill-switch:
