Wow! We can’t imagine what kind of uproar this caused at PTA meetings.
In Philadelphia, almost a third of their high schools are getting free condom dispensers installed!!
Before you start questioning why they’d do that├óΓé¼┬ª five percent of the city’s high school students tested positive for STDs!!
Some even had HIV!!
So this sounds like a really really important idea to us.
A school district spokesman said:
“We believe distributing condoms is part of our obligation to keep students healthy and to remain healthy. The health department has described this as a continued epidemic of STDs among teenagers in Philadelphia.”
It’s not like they’re promoting sex├óΓé¼┬ª they’re promoting safe sex!
Parents can “opt out” of their kids getting condoms, but the condoms are just in a machine for free.
So the kids have the option to do whatever they want because their parents aren’t there! LOLz!
Way to think about the kids’ health, Philly!
