On Friday, Pippa Middleton‘s father-in-law David Matthews (above, right) was taken into custody in Paris and charged with rape of a minor.
The 73-year-old — who is the father of James Matthews, Pippa’s husband — allegedly assaulted the victim between 1998 and 1999 in France.

Last year, an alleged witness reported the incident to authorities, forcing Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews‘ father to appear in front of judges on Tuesday.
According to legal sources from French national news agency AFP, Matthews has been charged with the “rape of a minor by a person with authority over his victim.” He has been slapped with charges for an alleged attack in Paris, and one in St. Barts, where he permanently lives with his wife Jane.
He denies the allegations and has been released on bail.
