Body positivity is going viral lately, and we love it!

A couple of weeks ago, plus-size fashion blogger Jessica Kane posted some photos of herself and friends in swimsuits on the beach.
When people commented that she was brave for not covering up her body, she was compelled to write an inspiring message about what she believes is truly brave.
She said:
“THIS WAS NOT BRAVE. I’ve been told how brave I am for not having a coverup, but going with out a wrap would only take bravery if I cared what others thought of me, but I don’t. I spend my time worrying about things I CAN control and this day, I was only thinking about how fab I felt and how much sun I was catching ├ó╦£Γé¼├»┬╕┬Å├░┼╕ΓÇÿ┬ì Things that DO take bravery?
A family battling tragic illness, a mother trying to beat addiction, a person trying to break free of domestic violence, reaching out for help when you have already planned your suicide and feel like you can’t breath one more day. THAT is brave. Not wearing a swimsuit at the beach. LIVE life and only worry about what really matters ├░┼╕ΓÇÖ┬».”
The picture and message quickly went viral, which Jessica acknowledged with an update on her original post:

Her thoughts clearly resonated with a lot of people, probably because there’s a lot of truth in them!
It shouldn’t be considered brave or shocking for someone to wear a bathing suit to the beach just because they don’t have a typical “supermodel” body.
Remember: A “bikini body” is any type of body wearing a bikini!
