These boys were NOT playing nice!
Police in Montreal are investigating a hit that happened during a Boston Bruins v. Montreal Canadiens’ game.
The hit happened when Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara skated up to the front of the bench area and pushed Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens’, causing his head to smash against a divider separating two benches.
Pacioretty suffered a severe concussion and fractured vertebra.
Said Zdeno about the incident:
“Obviously I feel bad about what happened. I was trying to make a strong hockey play and play hard. It was just very, very unfortunate that the player got hurt and had to leave the game. It was just one of those things. These things, like glass extensions, doors, even hockey nets, are part of the game. Obviously, players run into them. It’s just very, very unfortunate that a player got hurt.”
Pacioretty’s lawyers say that the hit was malicious, and have sent police to investigate further.
Ugh, remind us NEVER to play hockey!
