A very sad sign of the times!
The small town of Alto, TX has been left defenseless this week as the budget for their police force has been completely CUT! According to official reports:
“In an effort to save money, the city has laid off its police chief and four police officers for six months ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ longer if Alto├óΓé¼Γäós finances don├óΓé¼Γäót improve.”
Those poor people and their families! Just what the hell are they supposed to do now?! Heartbreaking!
What’s worse is that they’re not the only ones who have to worry about their future. From an outsiders perspective, Alto is just a sleepy Eastern Texas town, occupied by 1,200 hardworking Joes and Janes. But those 1,200 folks are now going to have to fend for themselves in a town that reported 66 crimes last year, well ABOVE the state average.
So what advice does the town’s mayor offer his good citizens? “Bolt your doors, buy a gun.”
Fantastic! Thanks a lot!
Got to love the recession!
