Family Who Were Told Their Son Had Died Are Shocked To Find Him Alive And Well!

Talk about a messed up situation!
Two parents from Alaska named Karen and Jay Priest were devastated to hear from Juneau police that their 29-year-old son Justin had died in a car crash, and the belief was that alcohol may have not been involved.
The two parents knew something was wrong when an Alaska State Trooper came to their door at 3am in the morning!
Here’s what the mother Karen said:

“He knew right away, the dread. It’s not good when a trooper knocks on your door at three o’clock in the morning.”

But then they went to their son’s longtime girlfriend’s house on Thursday at 5:30 in the morning to tell her of the horrible news, they were shocked to find their son Justin opening up the door!
Here’s what the mother said:

“There are no words. We just kept staring at him…It opens and right here is Justin. I don’t even see it but Jay is sobbing. It doesn’t compute to me. Then I see him. You want it to be true, but you go, ‘Am I hallucinating?’ Justin didn’t know what was going on.”

Saying Justin didn’t know what was going on is an understatement! Here’s how Justin explained it:

“I didn’t know why they were yelling and screaming. I was mostly asleep. They were yelling, ‘Praise Jesus! It’s a miracle!'”

They hadn’t even knocked on the door yet which is the crazy part! Justin had just woken up to walk his 9-month-old puppy (seen above) and literally freaked the F out of his parents!
But freaked them out in a good way!

Police are super upset that they caused so much grief to a family for no reason. They had meant to just contact Justin’s family to ask them if the crash victim COULD’VE been their son — not to say that it definitely had been!
Here’s what Chief Bryce Johnson said:

“I’m almost speechless for words. This shouldn’t happen. We have to take responsibility for that. It was our case.”

They definitely have to take responsibility, and honestly they could be in some legal trouble for what they did!
But it seems like all the Priest family is interested in is the fact their son is alive and well!
Talk about relief!
